Mound

John Paul II Mound

7 metres, Borek Fałęcki. The youngest and the smallest.

MMagdalena

It was raised in 1997 by the Sisters of the Resurrection in the garden of their convent on Pawlickiego Street, in the district where Karol Wojtyła worked during the war as a labourer at the Solvay factory. It is the only Kraków mound built in modern times and the only one dedicated to a person alive when it was made.

The mound is open to visitors, and from its top you see the former factory site, today a shopping centre, and the church of Our Lady of Victory, where the young Wojtyła prayed on his way home from work.
